Orice istorie ar fi uitată dacă nu ar exista cineva care să ducă povestea trecutului mai departe. Pentru Eva, istoriile personale ale oamenilor din sat care nu mai trăiesc și care au lăsat o amprentă în viața comunității au fost punctul de plecare în căutarea ei artistică.
Pozele păstrate de oameni ca arhive personale sunt transformate de ea în colaje, dând un nou sens amintirilor. Eva a explorat imaginarul cimitirelor și bisericilor abandonate din sat, locuri la rândul lor uitate.
Proiectul "Domnu Nelu Du-te", se axează pe ideea de ștergere. Ștergerea poate fi realizată prin simpla închidere a ochilor, o acțiune simplă. Colajele ei se concentrează pe combinarea a ceea ce este al tău acum și a ceea ce a fost odată. Explorează ștergerea ambelor părți și permite privitorului să își creeze propria carte.
Eva Chapkin atinge teme și idei precum individualitatea și amintirile care se târăsc de pe orice perete. Lucrările ei sar de la o idee la alta și se leagă de găsirea unor locuri imaginare. Filmele sale experimentale, precum și instalațiile sale mixte și cărțile obiect dau întotdeauna cititorului un sentiment de confort și de conștientizare a propriei dispariții.

Every piece of history would be forgotten if it weren't for the people who live to tell the stories of the past. The personal histories of the people who died in the village and left a mark on the community were the starting point for Eva’s artistic process.
The pictures kept by the locals as personal archives are turned by Eva into collages aimed to give a new meaning to the memories represented. She also explores the imaginary of cemeteries and abandoned churches of the village.
"Domnu Nelu Du-te" focuses on the idea of erasing. Erasing can be performed by just closing your eyes, a simple action. Her book focuses on combining what is yours now and what once was, it focuses on erasing both sides and allowing the viewer to create their own.
Eva focuses on themes and ideas such as individuality and memories which crawl from any wall. Her work jumps from an idea to another which always focuses on finding or figuring what is around us. She focuses on expressionism as an art movement through her experimental films as well as mixed media installations and book objects which always give the reader a sense of comfort . awareness of disappearance. With a variety of works Eva writes plays, poems, as well as stories which remain a moving image on a white wall.
